Charlotte Baxter, 72 of Centralia passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born April 20, 1943 in Anna, IL, daughter of Ora Dudley and Ivy (Jones) Dudley.
She married James Baxter on June 9, 1968 at the Church of Christ in Christopher, IL and he survives in Centralia. In addition to her husband of 47 years, she is also survived by three children: Mary Arnold of Edmond, OK, Kevin Baxter and wife Shari of Blackwell, MO, and Sean Baxter of Colorado Springs, CO and five grandchildren: Mimi Baxter, Elijah Baxter, Rain Baxter, Arielle Arnold and Mallory Arnold. She was preceded in death by her parents. Charlotte worked at Centralia High School for 4 years and Kaskaskia College in the Business Learning Center.
She also worked at the Community Resource Center as a Case Manager. In 1994 she graduated with the first class from Barnes Nursing School in St. Louis, Missouri. She worked with Home Health, took care of many patients at their homes, and she and her husband were caregivers for her parents.
Charlotte was a member of the Church of Christ in Centralia, a Board Member of the Cultural Society, Past President of the AAW, member and Past Vice President of the Light and Lens Club. She enjoyed going to Photography exhibits, sewing, knitting, making crafts and jewelry.
Charlotte loved traveling all over the world with her family and she even visited Japan twice. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
