Charlie Henry Brisel, the son of Frank and Henrietta (Bunse) Brisel, was born June 14, 1907 in Ira, Iowa. Charlie attended Sherman #2 Country School.
On February 21, 1935, Charlie was united in marriage to Cleona Berniece Welch in Newton, Iowa. He has been a farmer all his life, living on or close to the same place all his life. Charlie was a member of the Central Hawkeye Tractor Association and a past leader of the Sherman Tigers 4-H Club.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, a brother in infancy and a sister, Rosalie Beals. Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Berniece; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Brisel of Baxter, Iowa; Jack and Lucy Brisel of Marion, Iowa; and David and Sheryl Brisel of Waseca, Minnesota; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and Robert Corrigan of Osgood, Missouri, Jean and Leo Daniels of Reasnor, Iowa, and Betty and Duane Koppin of Newton; his twelve grandchildren; his nineteen great-grandchildren; his 1 great-great-grandchild; his brother, John Brisel of Newton; his sitters, Mary Slifer of Marshalltown, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.
