Mr. Charles W. “Sam” King, age 92, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at Avalon Health & Rehab in Newnan, GA.

He was born November 10, 1922, in Canton, OH to the late Raymond W. King and Stella McCoy King. Sam served in the Army during WW II and was a member of the American Legion. He was a lifetime member of the Christ Presbyterian Church in Canton. He was a volunteer for 20 years with the American Red Cross and during that time he served on the Disaster Relief team. He got a bachelor’s degree from Mount Union College and retired from commercial photography at the age of 62. He had many joys in life but his favorites were painting, and fishing and he was an avid golfer.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife Marilyn Clarke King, and son Jim King. He is survived by sons John King and his wife Marty of Newnan, Georgia, and Tom King of Bremerton, Washington. He is also survived by grandchildren, Stephanie King, Ryan King, and Vanessa King.
