Charles Wendell Adams, 88, of Greenwood, died on Sunday, June 19, 2016, in Indianapolis.He was born on May 29, 1928, in Crandon,  Wisconsin, to his parents, Ernest and Amelia Lykins Adams.

He served in the United States Army as an Engineer. Later, he worked as a bottle machine operator at Anchor Glass Container Corporation. Charles enjoyed talking on his c.b. radio, spending time with his many grandchildren, and traveling.

Charles is survived by his wife, Violet June (Mitchell) Adams of Greenwood; two daughters, Vickie Kauffman and Margaret (Charles) Behler of Indianapolis; stepchildren, Loretta (Paul) Dausch of Bargersville, Leona Shepard and Frank Hofmeister, both of Indianapolis, Patricia (Gary) Rebennack and Cathy Thompson, both of Greenwood, and Laura (Simon) Ross of Greenfield; 21 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Amelia Adams, brothers, Ray and Don Adams, and two sisters, Arvella Creech and Betty Smith.
