Charles W. Rulapaugh, 83, Pendleton, died March 17, 2010 at Rawlins House in Pendleton.

He was born May 12, 1926 in Tuxedo, Maryland, and moved to Pendleton in 2007. Charles served with the United States Navy during World War II, earning an honorable service button, ribbon, and Presidential Unit citation for heroic service on the USS Essex and USS San Jacinto. He drove a school bus, was a milkman, a professional mover and a plumbing consultant at Menards. He was a member of Free Evangelical Church in Wisconsin and the Teamster’s Union. Survivors include his wife, whom he married April 24, 1953, in Waukegan, Illinois, Alice Kramer Rulapaugh; children, Debra of York, PA; sons, John of Denver, CO and Charles, Jr. of Pendleton; brother, Robert Dorothy Rulapaugh; sister, Mildred Rulapaugh-Marsh; grandson, Adam, step-granddaughter, Jennifer and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Charles & Bessie Mae Owens Rulapaugh; four sisters and four brothers.
