Strayer1944~2022Charles V. Strayer of West Chester, entered into rest on January 27th, 2022, at the age of 77. Born in 1944, Charlie was the youngest son of Edward and Mabel. Charlie married Joan Wood in 1961 and together they had four children. In 1976, Charlie married his second wife, Dorothy Hartman, and they shared a daughter.Charlie was a lifelong master plumber who worked at Madsen Inc. for over 30 years. He mentored many in the trade over his long career, his son followed in his footsteps. Charlie was a musician, an avid hunter, champion fisherman, and a golfer, but his true passion was pool and billiards. He was most often found at his “home away from home”, Drexelline Billiard Club, teaching lessons, playing in tournaments, coaching future champions, or hanging out enjoying a “sippie” of coffee with his many friends. Charlie was a jovial man that loved his family and always had a joke in his back pocket. He will be remembered by his friends and family as a hardworking man, who greeted you with a smile and always had a new story to tell.Charlie is proceeded in death by his parents, his siblings, Edward Strayer, Francis Strayer, Joan Weiss-Kibby, and his daughter Patti Ann Boudreaux. Charlie is survived by his beloved partner of over 20 years, Debbie Henderson, His children, Donna Beisel (Bruce), Michael Strayer (Michele), Jennifer Fasano (Tony) and Sharon Hart (Brian) as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
