Charles “Scotty” F. McLaughlan, 74, of Berkeley Twsp., NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, October 28, 2021. Born in Paisley, Scotland, he lived in Hackettstown, NJ, and Las Vegas, NV, before moving to Toms River 21 years ago.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War before establishing a career as a Shop Steward for UPS in Mt. Olive, NJ. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Jeanie R. (McKee) McLaughlan, as well as his brother Robert L. McLaughlan.
Scotty will be forever missed by his loving wife of 51 years, Kathleen (Cook) McLaughlan, as well as his son Robert C. and his wife Paige McLaughlan of Washington, daughter Christina and her husband Kevin Lewis of Cape May, NJ, daughter Jennifer and her husband David Johnson of Allamuchy, NJ, his sister Anne Kirby, eight grandchildren; Ian, Tyler, Jared, Ashlyn, Ryan Brooklyn, Kody and Evan., seven great grandchildren; Finley, Sienna, Charles, Paxton, Chloee , Lylal and Abel and two great grandchildren on the way.
