Charles Robert Sams, I, age 68 of Cicero, IN died Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Riverview Hospital. He was born April 15, 1943 at Gray Hawk, KY to Ruben and Lillie (Parrett) Sams.
Mr. Sams was a diesel mechanic and also built trusses at Truss Manufacturing Company at Westfield, IN. Charles enjoyed fishing in his spare time.
He married Doris Helen (Hicks) Sams on December 26, 1970. She survives him. Also surviving is a son and his wife: Charles Robert (Norma) Sams, II of Cicero, IN, brothers: Adrian Sams and Dallas Sams both of Kokomo, IN, Rubin (J.R.) Sams of Batesville, IN, sisters: Lucille DeBarr of Atlanta, IN, Molly Menchaca of Noblesville, IN, Chrystlene Summers of Tomkinsville, KY, Carolyn Schreibeis of Sunman, IN, grandchildren: Samantha Jo Smith, Adrianna Nicole Sams and Alysia Marie Sams.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter: Barbara Ann Smith, a brother: Ed Sams, and a sister: Helen Griffin.
