Charles Richard Gielow Sr., born 22 December 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully 24 April 2020. Mr. Gielow was a graduate of Russel High School, Atlanta, and Georgia State University with a bachelor’s degree in transportation. He is survived by his loving wife Frances Free Gielow; children; Charles Gielow Jr. (Rhonda), Beth Burke (David), Harold Gielow Sr. (Liz), Laura Greene (Wendell); grandchildren; Charles Gielow III, Hunter Holland, Jonathon Gielow (Christina), Catie Duncan-Sutton (Joseph), Charlie Gielow (Kristi), Beau Greene (Jessica), William Gielow, Cody Gielow; and great grandchildren; Avali, Cayenne, Keva, Jillian, Tess, River, Hannah. He is preceded in death by his parents; Harold Lowell Gielow and Dorothy Cates Gielow; siblings; Katherine Robison and John Gielow; and grandson Harold Gielow Jr. He was employed with Roadway Express Trucking Company Inc. for 30 years and retired his position as Vice President of Operations and Safety at age 55 to his farm in Senoia, Georgia. He spent his retirement there happily making beautiful furniture and farming. With the patience of a saint, he taught us all to stand proudly, walk with dignity, and forgive quickly. “God broke the mold when He formed this soul. The smartest man, bar none, we have ever met. Unflappable, optimistic, just, forgiving, moral, and loving. A good man!”
