WINSTED -RATEGAN – Charles R. Rategan, Sr., 86, of Mountain Avenue, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at Laurel Hill Healthcare surrounded by his family. Born August 5, 1920 in Hartland, CT; the son of the late George and Mabel (Stewart) Rategan. He was a resident of Winsted for all of his life. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He is survived by a son, Charles R. Rategan, Jr. and his wife Lynn of Winsted; two daughters, Linda Stickney of Winsted and Joan Giannattasio and her husband David of Winsted; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his siblings, Frances Rategan, George Rategan, May Barry, Beatrice Cross, Florence Groman, Isabell Palmer, Robert Rategan and Joseph Rategan; and a son-in-law, Stanley Stickney.
