Charles R. “Charlie” Johnson, 62 of Fortville passed away on May 13, 2012 in Noblesville. He was born in Manila, Arkansas on March 2, 1950 to the late Jimmy and Alma (Carr) Johnson. Charlie was employed by Parish Manufacturing in Indianapolis for 19 years.
He was an active member of the Woodbury Community Church, and also a member of the Fortville Lions Club and Mt. Vernon Optimist Club, where he was a life-long coach. Charlie is survived by his wife Rebecca “Becky” (Jones) Johnson, whom he married on November 23, 1968; daughter, Shelli Johnson Cash; son, Gary (Heather) Johnson; grandchildren, Jeremiah Cash, Blake Johnson and Meredith Johnson; brothers; Roy Johnson, Carl Wayne Johnson, J.T. Johnson and Bobby Parsley; sisters Lynn McCamis, Mary Ann Jones, Karen Selman and Fay Lewis; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Clarence Johnson, Thomas Neal Johnson and Rick Parsley, and sisters Alene Ralston and Loreda Burgett.
