Charles Paul “Charlie” Crew, 70, of Taneytown, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017, after a hard fought battle with malignant pleural mesothelioma caused by exposure to asbestos. Charlie endured his battle so that others can learn from his diagnosis.

He obtained a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University. He served in the Navy from 1966 to 1972 starting as a Machinist Mate. During his career he did Civilian work at Nine Mile Point Nuclear Power Plant, Fitzpatrick Nuclear Power Plant, Westinghouse, Cornell University Ward Laboratory, General Physics Corp., Bechtel Power Group and presently as a Lead Engineer at Transwestern Commercial Services at Johns Hopkins Convention Center.

He was a great baseball lover, avid Orioles fan and enjoyed jazz music, dancing with his wife and traveling.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nina Beth Dillenbeck-Crew. Also survived by numerous immediate and extended family members and remarkable friends and respected co-workers, cats; Big Al and Chawy; a Norwegian Forest Cat.
