Charles Melvin Gravatt, age 69, passed away February 9, 2016 at his residence in Paw Paw, MI. Charles was born November 20, 1946 in Kalamazoo, the son of Harold L. and Betty J. (Simpkins) Gravatt. He was a lifelong area resident and was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Charles loved working construction, building things, was known to be very handy in repairing most anything. He retired following 14 years as park manager of the Country Holiday Estates Mobile Home Park. A very important part of Charles life was spending time with his family. On February 4, 1966 he was united in marriage to Sandra (Holden) Gravatt who survives.
Also surviving are five children Charles L. (Pamela) Gravatt, Bobbi (Andrew) Pirch, Curtis (Nashaun) Gravatt, Chadwick (Tabitha) Gravatt, Betty Gravatt (Brian Fincannon); 18 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a sister Janet Johnson; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and by 2 siblings Barbara Laviolette and Gerald Gravatt.
