Charles L. “Charlie” Butcher, 65, of Jacksonville, IL passed away Monday, August 3, 2015, at his residence.
He was born November 5, 1949, in Beardstown, IL, the son of Carl and Kathryn Withrow Butcher. He married Joyce Elaine Potter on July 10, 1988, at the Passavant Hospital Chapel in Jacksonville and she preceded him in death on July 8, 2012.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara (Fred) Floyd of Jacksonville; a stepson, Michael Potter, and his family of Meredosia; an uncle, Lloyd Butcher of Tennessee; an aunt, Darla Butcher of Oregon; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Charlie worked in the dietary department at Passavant Hospital for 33 years prior to his retirement. He was of the Baptist faith. An avid motorcyclist and cat lover, Charlie enjoyed time spent with his many friends.
