Charles Joseph “Chuck Summers, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015 at the age of 89 in Scottsdale, AZ. Chuck was born June 23, 1925 in Baltimore, MD. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 1947, was a member of Tau Beta Pi and proudly served the U.S. Navy. Chuck’s career as an engineer for American Sugar included the construction of many factories. Building the Chandler, AZ Spreckels sugar beet factory in 1964, brought Chuck and his family to Arizona from the east coast. He was an avid tennis player, loved snow skiing and participated in the Scottsdale Senior Softball League. Chuck leaves behind his daughter Sherrie Shank, (Chip) and son Thomas, (Wendy) and five grandchildren Brittany (Chris), Trey, Kaitlin (Chris), Kaylan and McKenna. Chuck is predeceased by his brother Robert, of Baltimore MD and his son Douglas.
