Charles Joseph “Joe” Baumann, was born April 18, 1947, in Beatrice, Nebraska, the son of John James and Beulah May (Crosier) Baumann, and passed away at his home in Cumberland, Iowa, on Thursday, January 1, 2009.
Joe lived in Beatrice, Nebraska, most of his life and graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School. Joe was employed by Nebraska Public Power for 17 years.
He came to Iowa in 1994 and spent several years plowing in, and splicing telephone cable in Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri. During this time he met and married Sally Ranney on August 19, 1994, at Kingman, Kansas. They traveled around during his employment with the cable company and finally settled in Cumberland, Iowa.
Following that he worked at Camblin’s, and most recently as a truck driver for Henningsen Construction Company, both in Atlantic, Iowa.
