Charles John Bill, 45, of Jacksonville, died Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at his residence. He was born Jan. 11, 1962, in Springfield, the son of Charles Francis and Cora Taapken Bill.
He is survived by one daughter, Katie Bill (companion, Mike Gillum) of Springfield; three grandchildren, Michael Gillum, Marissa Gillum and Jordan Gillum, all of Springfield; his step-mother, Nevella Jane Bill of Springfield; six brothers and sisters, Bill Lindsey of Oakford, Sarah (husband, Jim) Kerske of Lee Summit, Mo., Paula (companion, Kenneth Brooks) Cavage of Kansas City, Mo., Harry Bill and Paul Bill, both of Springfield, and Tina (husband, Ronald) Coleman of St. Louis; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bill was a cook, having worked at Stork Catering and several restaurants in the Springfield area. He enjoyed playing chess, playing guitar and in his younger days he enjoyed martial arts.
