Charles J. (Carl) Lipiec, of Burlington Township, went to be with his Lord and Savior at the Masonic Home of NJ, on December 8, 2009 at the age of 93. Mr. Lipiec was born in Burlington and remained a lifelong resident. He served his country in the US Army during World War Two. Mr. Lipiec worked as a design engineer for the State of New Jersey in the Department of Environmental Protection. He was active locally as a fifty-year member of the former Burlington Elks Lodge #996, and a current member of the Edgewater Park Elks Lodge # 2550, as well as a member of the Burlington Township Senior Citizens’ Club, the Capt.

James Lawrence American Legion Post, and the Scully-Bozarth VFW Post #1817. He had been the president of the Burlington Township Band Parents organization and he had served on the Burlington County Board of Elections. He also ran for elected office in Burlington Township several times. He is survived by his wife, Irene J. (nee Gontarski), hius children, Carl (Terry), of Burlington Twp., Kimberly (Michael) Gusrang, of Port. St. Lucie, FL, Jacqueline Lipiec, of Burlington Twp. and Rosemarie Kozempel, of Philadelphia, PA, ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, as well as several nieces and nephews.
