Charles H. Whitney, Jr., 66, of Cromwell, beloved husband of 42 years of the late Sandra (Villers) Whitney, passed away on Sunday, December 14th at the CT Hospice Center. He was born in Framingham, MA the son of the late Charles H. Whitney, Sr. and Kathleen Kelley Whitney. Charlie lived in Middletown for twenty years prior to moving to Cromwell in 1996. Charlie retired as a production lead man from Pratt & Whitney in Middletown, after 40 years of employment and served as the president of MAPS a local Multiple Sclerosis charity for nearly two decades. Charlie was an Eagle Scout and a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and NY Giants. Charlie is survived by a son, John C. Whitney and his wife, Christine V. of Cromwell, a daughter, Sherry Whitney and her husband, Thomas Murphy of Portland, and five grandchildren, Catherine and Danielle Whitney and Erin, Ryan and Devin Murphy. The family wishes to express their thanks to the CT Hospice Center in Branford, CT for their kindness in caring for Charlie.
