Obituary of Charles Harkleroad
Charles English Harkleroad of Mer Rouge passed away on February 23, 2005.
Mr. Harkleroad was a past member and chairman of the Education Committee at Prairie View Academy where he worked tirelessly for over twenty years to recruit quality teachers for the school. He was the driving force behind the formation of the PVA Parents and Friends Club in the early 1980’s. He was an active supporter of King’s Camp, always helping in any way needed. Mr. Harkleroad was also a long time member and past chairman of the Mer Rouge Community Chest and served his country in the United States Air Force.
Typical of his generous and caring nature, Mr. Harkleroad had listed himself as an organ donor.
The Harkleroad family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Lyon, Dr. Allen Spires, and the ICU staff at Morehouse General Hospital for the competent and loving care provided to him. Their appreciation also goes out to the many friends who prayed and exhibited such love and concern for him and the family during this difficult time.
