Chuck would like everyone coming to the visitation to proceed to the West Bend Community Center, directly east of the funeral home for a lunch which he has provided. All are welcome.
Charles Herman Welter, the son of Charles Welter and Alice Thorsen was born August 20, 1943 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He attended school in Ottosen and graduated from the West Bend High School in 1961. He then went to college at the University of Iowa, graduating in 1966.
Chuck worked at Lennox in Marshalltown and Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Des Moines before returning to Ottosen to farm. He married Beverly Kriegel at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple moved to Ottosen in the mid 1970’s.
Survivors include his mother Alice Welter of Ottosen, IA, wife Beverly of Ottosen, Iowa, step daughter Cindy ( Dave) Wagner of Callender, Step grandchildren Ryan (Tiffany) Craig of Callender, IA, Kelly Craig of Fort Dodge, IA, and Mallory Boge of Fort Dodge, IA, 7 step great grandchildren, his brother David (Janet) Welter of Ottosen, IA. nephew Jesse(Shawn, two great nieces, nephew Justin and niece Jill.
