DURHAM Mr. Charles Freeman Huffines, 66, of Durham, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 8, 2018.Charles was born in Guilford County, the son of the late Hasley Freeman Huffines and Carolyn Delores Nesbit Huffines. He was a former employee of UNC Hospital and the County of Durham where he worked in Maintenance. Charles loved family reunions, church homecomings and earlier years he enjoyed Square Dancing. He had many friends and loved to talk on the phone. He was a member of Yates Baptist Church. Charles lived life to the fullest and will be remembered as a caring and loving husband, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Faye is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Linda Martin Huffines; sister, Joyce Gunn and husband, George; nephew, Donald Campbell and niece, Leslie Cooper.m. Rev. Ernest Ferrell will officiate.m. Main Street, Durham NC family would like to thank Dr. Jessica Regan, of Duke University Medical Center, Karen Verhaeghe of DukeWELL, and Ben Zweigle of Alliance Behavioral Healthcare, for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Charles these last few months..
