Mr. Charles Franklin Jones, Jr., 78, of Newnan passed away Monday, November 23, 2015 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Mr. Charlie was born December 27, 1936 in Atlanta, GA to the late Charles F. Jones & Ethel Elizabeth Easton Jones.
Mr. Charlie was a longtime member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church. He was a patriotic veteran who served his country in the Air Force. Charlie worked for Delta Airlines for nearly 30 years retiring as an Assistant Coordinator. Coweta County is a better place because of the service of Charlie Jones. He was instrumental in establishing and coordinating the volunteer fire department where he served over 20 years. He made a difference in Coweta County serving as County Commissioner during a time of tremendous growth from 1996-2000.
Survivors include wife, Nan Clements Jones; children, Brenda (Rick) Jordan, Frank (LeAnne) Jones, Scott (Fukuko) Jones, Kathy (Glen) Goldreich; brother, Clyde (Lynne) Jones; grandchildren, Ricky (Nicole) Jordan, Leslie Jordan, Chris (Lori) Jones, Jessica Jones, Brandon (Morgan) Jones, Stevie Jones, Keifer Jones, Matt Harmon; and five great-grandchildren.
