Charles E. “Smokey” Lontz, 61, of Sharpsburg, GA passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 20, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 14, 1954 in Renton, Washington and was a member of New Heights Baptist Church in Newnan.
Smokey actively served in the Marine Corps and honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He worked in many states as an insulator with the Western States Insulators & Allied Workers Union with his membership held by Local 97, Anchorage, AK.
Smokey was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Jane Palmer and his sister, Beth Lontz.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa “Teri” McCutchen Lontz; father, Edward (Shyla) Lontz; sisters, Arlea (Howard) Spangler, Wanda Cason, Debbie Moulds; brothers; Dwayne (Jennine) Moulds, Martin (Lynn) Finn; son, Eric (Jessie) Lontz; daughters, Nicole Schattenkerk, Martia Odom, Danyelle (Robert) Leatherwood, Tanya (Michael) Betts, Shannan (Chuck) Smith, Brittany Lontz; 19 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.
