Charles Edward Coleman, 65, of 50 Jean Drive, Martinsville, VA died Wednesday, March, 9, 2011. Born in Henry County, VA, he was the son of the late Effie Adkins Coleman and John Walter Coleman. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a granddaughter, Madison Grace Bailey. Mr. Coleman attended Gospel Baptist Church and he was a life member of the Patrick County VFW of Virginia, Post #7800. He was employed by American Standard Homes for 27 years as a truck driver and later with Ryder and First Fleet before retiring. He served with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam on two tours of duty. Surviving is his wife Mary Jean Joyce Coleman of the home; son, Alan; son, Gerald ‘Jerry’ Bailey and wife Candy of the Figsboro area; brothers, John Harvey Coleman, Howard Cleveland Coleman and Michael Allen Coleman, all of Martinsville; grandchildren, Austin Bailey and Lane Bailey.
