Charles E. Webster, 71, of Freeport, died Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Manor Court in Freeport as a result of cancer.
Born June 26, 1944 in Lena, Illinois he was the son of Kenneth O. and Florence M. (Gerdes) Webster. He married Judy Matz in 1999.
Charles started working at Ingersoll Machine and Milling in Rockford after graduation from Dakota High School until the day he retired 48 years later.
He was a member and past Trustee Chairman of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Charles was always the first to offer help. He was a great handyman able to do all projects. An avid golfer and Bears fan his favorite past time was being with his grandchildren. Charles spent many summers playing softball with his friends and attending their sporting events. He and Judy enjoyed traveling.
Surviving are his wife, Judy of Freeport; his daughter, Melissa (Shayne) Campbell of Lena and their son, Carter Campbell; his sons, Scott (Jill) Webster of Freeport and their children, Nathan, Sarah, and Emily, Aaron (Cindy) Webster of Freeport and their children, Gary and Brandy Hunt , and their grandchildren, Serenity and Owyn Hunt, Jeremy (Stephanie) Matz of McConnell and their children, Alyssa, Olivia, and Caleb Matz; his brothers Richard (Marlene) Webster of Davis, Carl (Shirley) Webster of Rockford, James (Susan) Webster of Asheboro, NC, and Clyde (Rita) Webster of Cherry Valley; his sisters, Phyllis Vietmeyer of Orangeville, Betty (Richard) Brubaker of German Valley, and Wilma (Donald) Nath of Freeport; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Mabel Gift and Norma Jean Webster; 2 brothers, Harold Webster and Edwin Webster.
