Charles Dominic Bergandi, 85, of Ladd, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Manor Court of Peru. Charles was born October 4, 1931 in Spring Valley to Anton Sr. and Anna (Perona) Bergandi. He worked as a machinist/maintenance supervisor for over 30 years.
He served in the U.S. Army from January 1952- January 1954 earning the rank of sergeant. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Peru, a model railroad hobbyist, amateur astronomer, gardener and inventor. He is survived by his brother, Anton (Maryanne) Bergandi Jr. of LaSalle; nephew, Thomas (Sandra Ringer) Bergandi of Georgetown, IN; niece, Amy (Bryan) Eyrich of Glen Ellyn, IL and great-niece, Emma Eyrich. He was preceded in death by his parents.
