Charles P. “Charlie” Bolander, 87, of Anderson passed away on September 25, 2011 at St. John Health System in Anderson. He was born April 20, 1924 in Madison County, Indiana to the late Guerny and Mary (Skinner) Bolander. Charlie retired from Delco-Remy as a sheet metal worker in 1980 after 39 years’ service.

He was a Charter Member of Fortville American Legion Post 391 and Life Member of VFW Post 6904. Charlie was a World War II Army veteran having received a Purple Heart, Bronze and Silver Star. He is survived by children: Mike (Cheryl) Bolander of Las Vegas, NV, Gary A. (Desiree) Bolander of Pendleton, Mark S. (Dana) Bolander of Anderson,, Jeffrey W. (Lu Ann) Bolander of McCordsville, and Douglas P. (Tammy) Bolander of Pendleton; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brother Jerry Goff of Fortville; sister Mildred Wolfgang. He was preceded in death by his wife Naoma (Cash) Bolander; several brothers and sisters.
