Charles “Chuck” Anthony Fertitta, 77, of Sharpsburg passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015. Chuck was born in Baltimore, Maryland on March 29, 1937 to Alma Cecilia Murphy and Charles James Fertitta. Eventually reaching the rank of sergeant, Chuck served his country by enlisting in the Army from 1955 to 1957, which included a deployment along the DMZ in Korea. Chuck was employed with Eastern Airlines for over 30 years and worked at BWI and beginning in 1976, ATL. For the past two decades, Chuck worked as a real estate appraiser serving the south metro area.

In 2003, he established his own company, Fertitta Appraisals in Fayetteville. Chuck is survived by his wife of 38 years, Paulette Elizabeth Emory and his son, Blake Andrew Fertitta. Known as “Fert” to those in Baltimore, he is also survived by his older sister, Rosemary City as well as his nephew, David “Crockett” City and niece, Sharon Davis. Additionally, he is survived by his other son, Stevie Fertitta, daughter, Darby McKaine, and their children as well as many great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his best local friend Ned Waller and his faithful companion Buster.
