Charles (Charlie) H.

peacefully with family by his side on August 24, 2021 after a short illness. Born in Quincy, MA to Helen

(Burke) Andrews and Charles H. Andrews Sr., he was raised in Milton MA and attended Milton Schools.

He played football for Milton High School. After graduating, he joined the United States Army in 1949.

He served in the Korean War in the 4 th medium tank battalion where he was awarded multiple

commendations including a bronze star. In 1953, he married the love of his life, Esther M. Grant and

moved to Randolph MA where they raised their 4 daughters. He worked at Suffolk Downs race track

when he was young and then for Sunbeam Bread Company delivering bread for many years until his

retirement.

He was a loving, devoted family man who will be remembered for summer Cape Cod vacations, any

green thumb gardening his roses and rhododendrons, helping out the neighborhood with mowing lawns

and snow blowing the driveways, watching Sunday football games (Go Pats!), the Red Sox, betting at the

race tracks, card playing, watching western movies, never ending hard work ethic, storytelling, coin

collecting, and his dedication to his family and friends. He will be remembered for his sense of humor,

laugh, tell it like it is mentality, “if you are going to do it, do it right” attitude and the love and sacrifices

he gave for his country and his family. He would do anything to help anybody and always put others

before himself.

Charles is survived by his wife of 68 years, Esther M. (“Sissy”) Andrews. His loving daughters, Eleanor

Andrews of Raynham, MA, Charlene (“Chuckie”) Robinson and husband Mark of NY, brother Robert

Andrews and wife Mary of Arizona. His grandson, Charles da Silva and wife Amanda of Rhode Island. 7

great grandchildren, Karl, Kylee, Kristopher, Kolten, Italia, Catarina, and Madalena. His nephews,

Michael Andrews, Brian Andrews and Chad Andrews. His nieces, Jennifer DiGiorgio, Alana Andrews, and

Keri Labadie.

He was predeceased by his daughters, Sharon L. da Silva and Linda M. Andrews., brothers Paul T.

Andrews and John F Andrews, granddaughter Jacqueline “Jackie” H. Andrews. He has reunited with the

family in heaven and has joined the party once again.

Rest in peace. The struggle is over. You are free to fly with the angels. We will “see you later”.

A special thank you to the nurses and doctors who cared for him over the years and Beacon Hospice for

making sure his last days were peaceful and comfortable.
