Charles Alan Hines, went to be with the Lord on January 31, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late, Florence Jean and James Reginald Hines. He is predeceased by his brothers, Reggie Hines and Lynn Hines.He is survived by his wife, Blair Powell Hines; children, Christopher Hines, Taylor Creed and husband Kyle, Krista Hines, Houston Hines and Jacob Hines; grandchildren Emma, Charlotte, Blair, Grayson, and Hudson; brother Wayne Hines; and nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.Alan graduated from Forest Glenn High School in 1982 and joined the US Army, serving from 1983 to 1987. He was in the Airborne and Assault Divisions and served time in Korea. Alan was assigned to Call Sign Purple 3, where he served as the Assistant Patrol Leader and his patrol is still part of his extended family. From 1988 to 1993 Alan served as a police officer for the City of Suffolk. He earned his bachelors degree from Averett University in 2010. Since 1993 he has worked in retail management and then as a self employed entrepreneur. Also during this time he was an Auctioneer for 20 years.
