Wallingford – Charles A. Turdin, 81, passed away on May 6th, 2018 after a brief illness.
Born on December 18, 1936, Charlie (as he was called by family and friends) was a lifelong Wallingford resident. He was a graduate of Lyman Hall High School, class of 1956. He entered the workforce starting at First National, then Aresco’s Superette, and then settling in at Pratt & Whitney where he stayed for 29 years before retiring in 1999. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement years.
He was a quiet man of few words who loved to travel whenever he could, especially to Florida and North Carolina. He was a lover of Jazz music and had an extensive collection. His favorite artist was Sammy Rimington.
Charlie is survived by his brother, Peter Turdin Sr., his nephew, Peter Turdin Jr., and his niece, Pam Turdin. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Loretta, his aunt, Leticia Pestey, and his sister-in-law, Lynne.
His family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Hartford Hospital (The Bliss Wing) and to the staff of Advanced Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in New Haven.
