Click on the tribute wall above to view Charles’ video tribute.Charles Arthur (Charlie) Constantine left this earthly world to continue his journeys on July 8, 2019. He was 88 years old. In those 88 years, Charlie led a life of accomplishments and adventures. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Charlie (birth name Constantinos) was the oldest son of Greek immigrant parents Arthur and Photine. He had a younger brother Vios (Vinnie). Growing up in Cambridge, MA, and working in the family bakery, Charlie learned the essentials of hard work. Charlie met his future wife Mary Ann Moore in Wisconsin while he was in the hospital following a car accident. He was a patient, and she was a dietician intern. They married in 1955 and had 47 years of loving marriage until her death. They eventually moved from Wisconsin to Michigan where they raised their family. Charlie was an Industrial Arts teacher for Taylor schools from 1960 until 1990, where he was typically known as “Mr. C”. Charlie was devout in his Catholic religion, which he shared with Mary Ann. He ensured he attended mass every week.Charlie was a master craftsman and could design and build just about anything. In his basement workshop, he designed and built numerous projects for his family. He also used his craftsman skills to help friends and families build and upgrade their homes. He leaves a legacy of his handiwork amongst all his loved ones.Charlie’s other personal passion was travel. He was a world traveler and was very proud of the fact that he traveled to all 7 continents. It was hard to find a country that he had not visited. When he traveled, he loved immersing himself in the local culture and getting off the “beaten path”. He enjoyed sharing and passing down his travel passions with his children and grandchildren. Charlie was also very proud of his military service. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1947 until 1953, when he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He was very passionate about military veterans and military history.Charlie had many other passions, including fishing, “going hunting” up north with friends, baking, and socializing with close friends. He never stopped moving. However, what made him the proudest was his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. He talked constantly of how proud he was of the men and women that his children and grandchildren have grown up to become. Charlie leaves to cherish his memory his children: Dean (Christine), Amy Fesler (Earl), Jim, and Ted (Lisa); his grandchildren Jeff Fesler(Cristin), Jon Fesler(Meaghan), Cristina Constantine, Alaina Constantine, and Kendal Constantine; and his great-grandchild Colleen Fesler.
