Charlene Wright, 66, a long-time resident of Roswell, died after a short but brave battle with brain cancer on Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 at Genesis Quakertown Center in Quakertown PA surrounded by her loving family. Born in Detroit Michigan in 1948, Charlene moved to Roswell in the 1970’s. Her only daughter, Elaina M. Wright was born in 1979. As single parent, she worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable and loving home for the two of them. A cashier for Farmer’s Country Market, she worked there until her retirement in 2001. Charlene loved baking and sewing and built a small part-time business doing so. She was well known for her cakes and baked goods and poured hours of love and hard work into them. She was also known for her big smile, big heart and fun loving nature. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and was very involved with the Roswell J.O.Y. Center. A loving and caring person, she loved to help those around her. Her daughter fondly remembers helping her shop and deliver groceries for elderly customers who could no longer make it into Farmers. After retirement, her love for helping others continued. She offered a home away from home for several NMMI cadets. She also volunteered at Pecos Elementary as a tutor and then as a foster grandparent. Most recently, she worked at Valley View Elementary school until her illness prevented her from doing so. Upon diagnosis, Charlene was moved to Pennsylvania to be near her family to receive treatment. There, she amazed her family with the ease in which she made friends and her ability to always find something to smile about despite her circumstances. She is survived by her only daughter Elaina M. Borchelt, son-in-law Dale M. Borchelt, grandsons Ishmael A Wright and Brennen D Borchelt and granddaughter, Lilliana E Borchelt, all of Quakertown, PA. She is preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Eleanor and Thomas Perrell.
