Charlene Rossow, age 86, of Algona passed away on July 28, 2017 at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Charlene Ann Rossow was born on July 22, 1931 in Storm Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Charlotte (Hageman) Jones. She was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls. Charlene attended grade school and high school in Iowa Falls. She also attended Ellsworth College graduating in 1950. Before marriage she taught school at Geneva, Rockwell City and St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Fort Dodge.
Charlene married Duane Rossow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge in 1955. The family lived in Fort Dodge, Webster City and Algona. Charlene worked at Trinity Little Lambs Pre School and Loving Hands Nursery in Algona for many years. The family were members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona. Charlene enjoyed her family and friends. She also enjoyed teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir and being a member of Trinity Lutheran Women.
Left to cherish Charlene’s memory are two sons, Michael and his wife Julie of Woodward and Timothy and his wife Phyllis of Ocean Shores, WA; two grandsons, Daniel and Charlie; great grandchildren, Lucas, Elizabeth, Audrey, Charley and Matthew; nephews, Gary Anderson and Howie Shultze; niece, Karen (Steve) Morton; and numerous great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother; and a sister.
