Charlene McFarling, 79, of Mebane, passed away peacefully on
Thursday, September 15th, 2022 at her home surrounded by family.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny McFarling. She is the
daughter of the late Walter E. Clark and the late Ellen Ball Clark.
In addition to her husband Johnny, Charlene is survived by her
daughters, Karen A. Snipes of Durham and Kelley S. Lauer of
Chapel Hill; her son, Tommy Snipes of Chapel Hill and his wife
Karen; stepdaughters Cheryl Gore of Sanford and Amy Lynn
McFarling of Sanford. She is also survived by her granddaughters
Kerri Snipes and Kadie Snipes; her sister, Kay Clark Travis and
husband Jerry Travis of Efland, and her sister Patricia Clark of
Durham.
Charlene was a native of Orange County and retired from the Office
of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of North Carolina
Chapel Hill as a secretary. She was a devoted mother, grandmother
and wife.
