Charlene was born February 14, 1956 in Mounds, Illinois, the daughter Van Leon Johnson, Sr. and Clotee (Mathis) Johnson.
She is survived by her son, DeVale Johnson and wife Corrina of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Taniskia Morning and fiance Derrek Garrett of Centralia; 3 brothers: Thetis Johnson of Paducah, KY, Calvin Johnson of Mounds, IL and Jonathan Holmes of Cape Girardeau, Mo; 7 sisters: Sue Johnson of Elgin, IL, Darlene Johnson of Decatur, IL, Ethel Delores and husband James of Paducah, KY, Lorraine Woods husband is Evan Woods of Pulaski, IL, Victoria Reynolds and husband Terry Reynolds of Florida, Christine Rita Johnson of Centralia, and Jaqueline Johnson of Cape Girardeau, MO; 15 grandchildren: Courtney Johnson, Fernando Calcutt Jr., Najai Johnson, Kiana Coleman, Malesha Calcutt, Devale Johnson, Dymin Johnson, Lorenzo Johnson, Daya Johnson, Sharanee Johnson, Tracee Morning, Davian Johnson, Tracy Morning, Duettie Morning, and Ozell Morning; and 5 great-grandchildren: Marlerek Calcutt, Leon Johnson, Kendal Davis, Kalesha Davis, and Addison Charlene Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers: Fred Johnson, Van Leon Johnson Jr., and Darrell Johnson, and 1 great-grandchild.
Charlene was a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed playing bingo and being with her family. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
