She was born December 30, 1957 in Willimantic, the daughter of Anne (Young) Gorgone of Willimantic and the late Francis Gorgone and had lived in Willimantic all her life. She was a 1975 graduate of Windham High School, and employed for the past 28 years at the University of Connecticut.
