Charlene B. Anderson, 88, of Virginia, IL, passed away Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022, at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
She was born April 28, 1933, in Chapin, the daughter of Howard P. and Beulah A. Gerdes Anderson.
She is survived by two brothers, Leroy Anderson (wife, Edra) of Virginia and George Anderson (wife, Judy) of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Richard Anderson, Lyle Anderson, and Andrew Anderson; two sisters, Joan Coffey and Mary Gregory Murphy; and three half-siblings, Wilbur Anderson, Robert Anderson, and Helen Smith.
Charlene was a graduate of Virginia High School and was employed by Cass County Courthouse and later retired from Cass County Abstract Company.
Charlene was a life-long member of Virginia United Methodist Church. She faithfully and joyfully served wherever she was needed. You could find her having coffee or lunch with friends. She also loved to listen to live country music.
Charlene’s significant other, Morris Sarff, preceded her in death. They spent many happy years together and she enjoyed a close relationship with his grandchildren, Rachel and Eric.
