Brunswick- Cecile E. Gilday Kunz,78,of Mountainview Avenue died Sunday, June 12, 2005 at her home.

Born in Oxford, NY, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Gilday and Pauline (Heffernan) Gilday and wife for 54 years of Fred W. Kunz.

She had resided in the Troy area most of her life and was educated at Oxford Academy in Oxford, NY and the Nathan Littauer School of Nursing in Gloversville and was affiliated in the nursing programs at Creedmor State Hospital in Long Island and Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

Mrs. Kunz was a licensed Registered Nurse and employed several years at Albany Medical Center Hospital and Ellis Hospital in Schenectady prior to becoming a homemaker.

She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Troy, where she was a former member of the Women’s Club, the Altar Rosary Society and the Block Rosary Society of Sanford Avenue. She was also a volunteer nurse at the Rensselaer County Health Clinic and received special recognition for twenty years of volunteerism in the Neighborhood Nursery School of the First United Presbyterian Church of Troy.

Survivors in addition to her husband include three sons, Joseph J. (Claire) Kunz of Watervliet, Stephen F. (Dolly) Kunz of Mililaui, HI and Matthew P. Kunz of Troy; a daughter, Katherine A. Kunz Pagaduan of Wailuku Maui, HI; a brother, John Gilday of Snyders Lake; two sisters, Holly Bradford of Milford, MI and Rosemary Norwood of Manchester, CT; six grandchildren; a great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son of two days, Andrew Leo Kunz and her sister, Sally Gilday.
