Cecil Ray Wayman, age 76, of Main Street, Salt Lick, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington surrounded by his loving family.

 

Born February 17, 1946, in Oklahoma, he was a son of the late Claude Eugene Wayman and Ruth Joyce Broughton Wayman.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Phillip Wayman and William “Billy” Wayman.

 

Cecil is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Nancy Elizabeth Utterback Wayman; three devoted children: Ruthanne Marie Wayman Schultz (Steven) of Morehead, Elizabeth Jean Wayman Roe (Keith) of Flemingsburg, and Clifford Cecil Wayman of Salt Lick; 11 beloved grandchildren: Christopher, Madison, Kearston, Devan, Zackery, Adriana, Mariam, Bethany, Nancy, Kendall, and Kira; nine precious great grandchildren:  Sabrina, Annabeth, Braxton, Kayden, Madalyn, Adalyn, Prudence, Sarahlynn and Jayden; and a dear goddaughter, Ellen Brown.

 

Others to cherish his memory include three siblings: Rick Wayman of Frankfort, Michael Wayman of Lexington, and Cheryl Bolender of Wilder, and numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

 

Cecil was a proud U.S. Navy veteran and received a bachelor’s degree from Morehead State University.  He began his professional career as a medical lab technologist in the Appalachian Regional Hospital system in Mann, West Virginia.
