Cecil Dishman, 77, of Pendleton, passed away in his sleep from natural causes on June 10, 2013, at Community Hospital of Anderson. Cecil was born on June 1, 1936, in Monticello, Kentucky to Porter and Nona Dishman. He served his Country in the US Navy as a Boatswain’s Mate on the U.S.S. Forrestal from 1954 to 1968.

Cecil served on the ship when it sustained horrific damage on July 29, 1967. He loved to show his Cruise Book from his time on the Forrestal. Cecil worked at the Indiana Reformatory from 1982 to 2002 and retired as a Correctional Lieutenant. He was a NASCAR fan and followed Tony Stewart. He loved to play Bingo, go to garage sales, and his cats, especially Tigger.

Cecil is survived by his wife of 24 years, Kathy Keegan-Dishman; his son who was his pride and joy, Scott Amanda Keegan; niece, Debbie Carpenter; nephews, Chad and Scott Johnson; several great-nieces and nephews; step-daughters, Cheree, Shaunda, and Cassandra; father-in-law, Glen Powers; sisters-in-law Joni Haley and Michele Merritt; and brother-in-law, Alan Beth Powers.

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Jane Norris and Vela Johnson; brother-in-law, David Haley; mother-in-law, Betty Powers, and his daughter, Kimberly Dishman.
