Cecil Kent Curlee, age 72, of Albemarle, N.C., died Monday, June 15, 2009, at CMC-Northeast in Concord, N.C. Curlee was employed by Service Dist. and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Oakboro. He was a member of Amvets. He had served as deacon and choir director for a number of years. He was a carpenter by trade but Kent Curlee was known as a “Jack of all Trades”. The flag will be folded and presented to Shelby by Cpl. Matthew Treece, grandson. The family will meet at his home, 21023 Huneycutt Mill Road, Albemarle. He served in the Army. Born in Stanly County, NC, he was the son of the late Charlie Cecil Curlee and the late Lillie Mae Turner Curlee. He is survived by his wife Shelby Jean Hinson Curlee of the home; Daughter-Pamela Jeanine Curlee of Albemarle, N.C. Son-Jody Kent Curlee and wife Tara of Albemarle, N.C. Sister-Mary Rose Sullivan of Norwood, N.C. Sister-Alma Jewell of Norwood, N.C. Brother-Tecil Curlee of Charlotte, N.C. Brother-Donald Curlee of Albemarle, N.C. Brother-Kibbee Curlee of Albemarle, N.C. Grandson-Cpl.
