Cecelia A. Kern, 93, of Liberty Center, Ohio passed away July 22, 2023. Cecelia was born on December 8, 1929 to the late Leroy and Gertie (Meyer) Carpenter in Liberty Center, Ohio. She married Clifford “Kip” Kern on January 17, 1948 at Mt. Pleasant Church in Grand Rapids, Ohio who preceded her in death on August 26, 2020.
Cecelia was a 1947 graduate of Liberty Center High School. Cecelia’s faith was very important to her. As a member of Victory Chapel United Brethren Church in Liberty Center she was involved in the singing Praise Group, member of the Women’s Missionary Association, and Administrative Board.
Cecelia is survived by her daughter: Debra Kern; sons: Barry (Susan) Kern and Thomas (Peggy) Kern all of Liberty Center, Ohio; grandchildren: Kyle (Michelle) Kern, Danett (Dustin) Setmire, Keith (Kim) Kern, Kara (Jocef) Langston, Kenzy (Madi) Kern, Troy (Ashley) Westhoven, Lin (Rich) Meloche, Caitlin Westhoven, Sean (Paige) Westhoven; and 20 great grandchildren.
Cecelia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 72 years, Kip; grandson Lance Kern; brothers: Randall, Lowell, and Elmer Carpenter, and sister Donna Haley.
