Cathy Ralene Fancher, 43

Brunswick Cathy Ralene Fancher, 43,of Farm to Market Road, died Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Albany, she was the daughter of Ralene Daugherty of Delmar and the late Preston Fancher and partner for 16 years of Todd Garmley and loved by his family.

She had resided in Albany for 25 years and several years in Troy and attended Bethlehem Central High School and Russell Sage College.

Cathy was a substitute at Tamarac High School and previously was employed as a paralegal and also at Albany County in the Hall of Records and the US Postal Service.

She was an active member of the Redeeming Love Gospel Church in Brunswick and in Brave Hearts, a cancer survivors organization. She was a Staff Sargent in the US Army during Dessert Storm.

Survivors in addition to her mother and partner include her daughter, Erin Cathleen Lanahan of Green Island; a brother, David Fancher of Sun Prairie, WI; a sister, Colleen Fancher of Clifton Park; a grandson, Eric Lanahan-Garhartt Jr. and a Godson, Dillan Garmley.
