Cathy Elizabeth Burns, 60, of Rowlesburg passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 8, 2016 with family by her side.
She was born January 4, 1956, in Rowlesburg, a daughter of Genevieve Bolyard Moats and the late Jack Moats.
Cathy enjoyed gardening, crafting and spending time with family. She worked for the Preston County Assessor for 11 years. She was a devoted wife and mother. She led a Cub Scout group and a Brownie group both in Rowlesburg. She volunteered for the PTO, athletic boosters and drove many miles transporting Rowlesburg students so that they could play football. She spent countless hours volunteering at Rowlesburg school. She will be greatly missed by her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Blaine Burns, her son, Joseph Dustin Burns and wife, Tracy of Bruceton Mills; her daughter, Mandy White of Rowlesburg; two grandchildren, Ethan White and Brooke Burns; her brother, Gary Moats and wife, Stephanie of Parsons; three sisters, Vickie Snyder and husband, Larry of Rowlesburg, Mary T. Delaney of Myersdale, PA and Peggy Price and husband, Robert of Sidney, OH and several beloved nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a nephew, Gary Herron, Jr. and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Burnice and Joseph Burns.
