Cathy A. Kopinski, 72, of Granger, IN, passed away following a sudden and unexpected illness, at 4:15 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, IN.
Born March 7th, 1945 to the late Arthur and Loretta (Kitkowski) Wojciechowski, she was a lifelong area resident. Cathy was preceded in death by three brothers, William, David and Darryl and her former husband, Joseph Kopinski. A 1963 graduate of Washington High School Cathy enjoyed not only raising her family, but an extended twenty-two year career at the offices of Dr. B.J. Kim, where she served as Financial Manager and Insurance Specialist. She retired in 2008.
Cathy is survived by two daughters, Cherie A. (Andrew E.) VanLaere of Granger, IN; Carole A. Kopinski of Granger, IN; one son, Chad T. (Scott R. Pettit) Kopinski of Aurora, IL; two grandchildren, Ashley N. (Alan Davidson) VanLaere of Elkhart, IN; Brianna N. VanLaere of Granger, IN; one great-grandchild, Haven R. VanLaere of Granger, IN; three sisters, Carolyn (Thomas) Haluda of South Bend, IN; Patricia (Robert) Zakrocki of Granger, IN; and Suellen (John) Firtl of Granger, IN; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
