Catherine (Katie) Y. Tieman, age 93, saw the Face of God on September 5, 2022, at home with her loving family by her side in St. Charles, IL.

Katie was born on September 19, 1928, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Floyd and Marguerite Grazier. In 1948 she married Vincent B. Tieman. They had five children, two boys and three girls – Mark, Carol, Jane, Jim (twins), and Margie. Being with her family was what she enjoyed most of all. Her life had many obstacles and much heartache. Yet through it all, her love of Christ and her family remained her focus. She felt blessed and grateful to God every day of her life.

She was a caring, supportive, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She was a homemaker in the true sense of the word. She truly made our house a home. She made our clothes, cleaned the house in her housedress, made endless hot meals, soups, cookies, and cakes, and managed the family budget. She kept our home warm during the cold Colorado winters. She taught us our prayers and said them with us nightly. The quality of our lives was rich.

At 14 Katie worked at a bakery and later worked in retail at several department stores in the 1940s. After raising her family, she returned to school, became a Daycare Director, and then a realtor at Coldwell Banker in the 1980s.

Mom passionately loved all forms of music! She took piano lessons in grade school, later taught piano to kids, and played piano for Girl and Boy Scouts and the Preschool.

Katie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Vincent, her sons Mark (Kevin Ann) and James, and her daughter Margaret (William) Chapman. She is survived by her daughters Carol (Byron) Heidorn and Jane (Anthony) King, eight grandchildren, Kimberly Tieman, Eric Tieman, Deanna Horner, Anthony King, Jr, Jeremy King, Grant Chapman, Diana Dendy, Audrey Bocanegra, eleven great-grandkids, and she would have been a great-great grandma in a couple of months, and many other dear relatives and friends,

Katie offered friends and family her smile, prayers, and Via Con Dios (Go with God).
