Catherine Parnell Jones, a resident at Hillside Nursing Home for more than seven years, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, December 28, 2007.
When life handed Catherine lemons, she made lemonade. A devastating stroke in Lafayette, Colorado from a fairly routine procedure on February 7, 2000 left her paralyzed and without her speech—but not without her voice. The day before her stroke, she had taken a group of senior citizens shopping for groceries. She was a fantastic seamstress who created beautiful quilts for her family and lap quilts for those in nursing homes.
