Mrs. Catherine Connolly
(Conlin), 73, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday February 2, 2011 in the Hackensack University Medical Center.
Catherine was born in Newark and lived in Kearny for many years.
She graduated St. Cecilia High School in 1954 and was a member of the Reunion Committee for her class. She was a member of the St. Cecilia High School Choir that performed at Carnegie Hall. She directed the musical “Okalahoma” at St. Anthony’s Montessori School in Kearny. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Paterson in 1957 with an R.N.
Mrs. Connolly was employed as Case Manager R.N. at St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark for two years. She retired in July of 2010. Prior, she worked in the former West Hudson Hospital in Kearny for 25 years. During that time she also taught C.P.R. to the Kearny’s police officers.
She was the beloved mother of Kathleen Kientz and her husband Len and Christopher Connolly. She was the grandmother of Corey and Ryan Kientz. She is the daughter of Catherine “Kay” Conlin (Bergman). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert H Connolly and her son Robert H., Jr.
